RDC 653: Changes to the transportation and storage of medicines.
The recently enacted resolution RDC 653/2022 establishes new guidelines and standards for the storage, transportation and distribution of pharmaceutical products and is scheduled to come into full force in March 2024. This resolution brings substantial innovations to the current scenario.
The main highlights of this new resolution, which deserve special attention from companies in the logistics sector, are:
- Permission to incorporate the risk assessment carried out by the pharmaceutical industry into the transportation route mapping process.
- Greater flexibility in the rules relating to temperature control during transportation, allowing for adaptations that are more in line with the specific needs and characteristics of each medicine.
